The 1980s & RIP Olivia Newton-John

How much fun was that? Great music and got the dancing legs on. Never Ending 80’s – Party Like It’s 1989 (6th August, 2022) The songs took me back. The 80’s were wonderful times – amazing people connection, no mobile phones, and we knew how to party, fashion was so cool.

Dressed as Madonna from her 1985 tour – like a virgin 🤣Pic is being a tad cheeky – lifting the top layer. I was running around in the first layer and my beautiful 18 year old son asked if I was going to be wearing anything else – yes darling another layer. Aww good mum. Then he helped me lace up the gloves and put on the jewellery. Love him so much. Xo

It is the decade most often associated with nostalgia and the style, and memories of the decade, continue to live on.

The 1980s were a time of great pop culture including some of the best movies, music, TV shows, and toys of all time.

The #1 song was Physical sung by the amazing Olivia Newton-John. At the 80’s event so many ladies were dancing with leg warmers and bright clothing. A few days later the sad news of the passing of Olivia Newton-John.

Rest in Peace Olivia Newton-John

We are deeply saddened to learn that Dame Olivia Newton-John has passed away August, 9th, 2022

Olivia Newton John was an icon. From Countdown, to Grease and Xanadu to Physical. A legendary actress and singer who left an impact on the world with her role as Sandy in the iconic movie GREASE. It became one of the highest grossing movie musicals ever, besting even “The Sound of Music”.

Olivia Newton John was what every Aussie little girl wanted to be, myself included. And every Aussie boy had a crush on Olivia Newton John. Her presence in Australia and the world will leave a hole.

Hopelessly devoted.

I wore leg warmers and danced around to Physical, I roller skated around the garage to Xanadu, I knew all the words and moves to the Grease songs, I dressed as Sandy to go to a Grease ball back in my hometown, I got teary when singing along

… Oh Sam, Sam, you know where I am
Oh Sam, you know where I am
Oh Sam, ooh Sam
You know, you know…

……. So many memories.

Rest In Peace lovely one,
