Bravo!! to our date sugar water kefir experiment.
We slowly dehydrated Deglet Noor dates until the moisture was gone and ground in a coffee grinder.
Water kefir grains in with the new food source and grew nice and plump.
Didn’t add any minerals – no crushed eggshell or bicarb etc. – just dried dates and a slither of ginger.
Our new dried dates will make a nice topping for kefir coconut ice cream. + an addition to special occasion treats.
