They are bitter, but an amazing health tonic.

Platelet level can go from dangerous low of 8-10 to 300 in 3 weeks.

1 tablespoon 2-3 times per day.

Check with your health professional and do not take if pregnant or wishing to conceive.

A super energizing leaf tea is great alone or in #kombucha brewing.

1 tablespoon dried papaya leaves
1 tablespoon crushed cacao nibs
2 cinnamon sticks
1 tablespoon ground ginger

Mix cinnamon and ginger, boil in water for 10 minutes.

Add the rest of ingredients and steep for another 10.

The sun setting on the Ucayali, with the Andean foothills in the background, and the taste of freshly cut papaya in my mouth, restoring a body utterly shattered, made for one of those ‘ones to tell the grandchildren’ memories.
